For those of you who are not actually Jewish (like me) Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year and today marks the beginning. Or, maybe yesterday marked the beginning, whatever. It’s Rosh Hashanah. Once again, I had the pleasure of celebrating a Jewish holiday in a somewhat traditional manner with Husband’s family/friends.
Typically these celebrations are full of prayers and speaking in Hebrew that have me trying very hard to look like l know what I’m doing. Usually, I drink enough wine to believe that I make a perfect honorary Jew, but pregnancy has taken that privilege away. However, today’s celebration had one quick prayer and the rest of the time was spent eating. Hallelujah! Or, whatever the Hebrew version of that is.
I want to type more about the delicious food, the fancy dinner, the company, and all the history of Rosh Hashanah, but I’m too tired…mostly from spending the last few hours figuring out how to put a stupid baby countdown on the blog. I don’t know why it was so difficult, but it really was a challenge. So, please comment and let me know how great it looks and how much you appreciate the hours it took to put it up for you. You’re welcome.
Shanah Tovah! (A good year!)
