The BEST Christmas Gifts for Preschoolers

kids wish list

My little girl is almost four, and this is the first Christmas that we have had trouble holding back. EVERYTHING is just SO exciting for her… the lights, the trees, the hot cocoa the presents… she loves it all. Watching her light up and get so excited about the holidays makes it that much more magical for us. So, when she starts asking for certain toys as we walk through the toy aisles at Target, I just want to throw it all in my basket, wrap it up and surprise her on Christmas morning! Husband and I are basically taking turns keeping each other in check. (Honestly, I think he’s worse than I am.) We are sticking to one big gift, a couple of smaller gifts and some fun necessary things, like clothes.

I spent lots of time searching the interwebs for great toy deals (thanks 17 hour road trip!) and I have come up with a pretty hot list of what your preschooler actually wants and/or needs in their life. So, whether you are a parent finishing out your kid’s list or a relative desperately googling “what do 4-year olds like”, I’m here for ya. I promise you these toys and ideas will not disappoint (or drive their parents crazy).

The BEST Christmas Gifts for Preschoolers

Luna LOVES her Hug-A-World from last year’s wish list. We literally talk about different places on it every night. She’s got a thing for traveling and maps (hey, she is our daughter!), so I know she’d love having a large map of her own. PLUS, you can write on it with dry-erase markers! What kid wouldn’t love that!

It’s sculpting soap, like play-doh, but it cleans! So cool!

It’s a fun board game, AND it’s educational. It develops matching, sorting, strategic thinking, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and pre-handwriting skills.

You read that correctly. Lego TAPE. You can just roll out and stick the base for your LEGO’s (or “let it go’s” as Luna calls them) anywhere. Just imagine, lego building on the wall!

This Vititech Kidizoom camera lets kids take real digital photos, it’s very durable, has selfie-mode, it connects to your computer and comes with tons of extra’s to make their photos even more fun and creative. #futureblogger

For the future Ninja Warrior champion… This is swinging obstacle course set and my entire family NEEDS it.

And, for the future barista… I’ve had my eye on this set for a while.  Luna loves having “coffee” dates with us and I just know she’d love having her very own coffee maker and mug set.

Every preschooler needs to learn to use scissors, correctly. This book provides several fun cutting activities, and it comes with child-safe scissors. Score!

If your toddler love Fisher Price’s Little People, then they’ll be obsessed with Fisher Price’s Loving Family. It’s a step up from Little People, and in my opinion higher quality and more fun than Barbie. The sets and dolls are SO detailed. Just the toy SUV has 3 doors that open, a tailgate that opens, 3 rows of seats, 1 that folds up, a radio that plays a tune and carseats! Luna goes nuts for these toys when she plays at her friends houses. (BTW, Santa might be bringing her a house for Christmas!)

  • Memberships and Classes

I say this every year, but the best gifts are memberships! A zoo, museum, botanical garden, etc… whatever is nearby and kid-friendly and offers a membership makes a great gift!

What age kids are on your shopping list this year?? Let me know in the comments and don’t forget to let me know what you think of my list.

Cheers
